DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will provide maintenance to the buildings and grounds at Fort Indiantown Gap. You will complete various carpentry tasks and install drop ceilings, floor tiles, windows, spouting, and siding. You will also replace sinks, flush controls, leaky faucets, unclog drains, and perform other plumbing work. This role requires the ability to apply knowledge in various trades while prioritizing work and determining proper methods and procedures needed. In addition, you will maintain grounds and walkways, interpret blueprints and diagrams, and paint interior and exterior areas. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Additional Requirement:
- You must maintain favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Any formal training (high school vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical training program) in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
- Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment
- Experience in commercial carpentry
- Experience in the plumbing trade
- Experience working in the electrical trade field
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems
- Experience with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears, and 3-phase panels
- Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters
- Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC), as it relates to repairs of buildings
- Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings
