What you'll be doing...

The Associate Director will manage a team of solutions architects responsible for designing and delivering advanced solutions to help move the sales process forward and win business. Typically, pre-sales-oriented, providing technical expertise and engaging customers and stakeholders over the course of the sales cycle. You will lead, train and motivate your team to effectively develop Verizon differentiated complex solutions including SD WAN/LAN, SASE, LAN and Security based on customers'/prospects' business requirements. The AD will be responsible for designing and delivering advanced solutions and engaging customers and stakeholders throughout the sales cycle by providing ongoing technical, advisory, consultative support to customers. The position will also serve as the technical design authority and architectural expert for sales opportunities across multiple vertical and geographic regions.

The AD will develop and provide expertise in the global enterprise and public sector market, on our, SDWAN/LAN, Managed Network Solution, SASE, Managed Security Services and CPE product teams, so that Verizon services remain an enabler and a differentiator to the broader portfolio. As well as have responsibility for designing and delivering advanced solutions to help move the sales process forward and win business.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring Solutions Architects are understanding customer business challenges, goals, and environment to design the right package of solutions and services to meet the customer need.

  • Tie customer requirements and business outcomes to technology solutions.

  • Ensuring the feasibility of the proposed solution with the delivery and product teams.

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support by building and communicating the value proposition.

  • Writing proposals and supporting the contracting process-ensuring that all technical needs along with legal and compliance needs are all satisfied.

  • Train team members in the customer applications of technologies.

  • Lead critical initiatives, coordinate sales solutions activities, and track and report success metrics.

  • Documenting customer technical and business requirements, then incorporate internal and third-party suppliers to meet the customer need.

  • Alignment of the team to Create Design Standards, provide insight in to Technology Ideation and, Field Enablement to Empower account teams with most current solutions and best practices information.

  • Presenting proposed architectures and business outcomes to leadership.

  • Providing timely market information, drivers and customer feedback to our partner organizations for product and technology positioning and improvements.

  • Making recommendations regarding the hiring, firing, advancement, performance, promotion or any other change of status of team members. Assessing employee performance, holding employees accountable, taking appropriate corrective actions, and training and providing ongoing direction and feedback to team members.

What we're looking for... You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Experience in SDWAN, LAN, SASE, Security and Core technologies

  • Experience in these fields: Networking, Security, and customer environments

  • Experience in the Telecom industry.

  • Experience in GenAI and associated prompt engineering.

  • Cisco Certified Design Associate/ Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCDA/CCNA)

  • MEF-SDWAN Certification

  • Possess communication (verbal/written) skills; including experience producing and delivering presentations to all levels of management across the organization.

  • Ability to create short and long-term strategies.

  • Be a strategic and analytical thinker who can analyze data to make appropriate process/business decisions/recommendations and shape business strategy.

  • Ability to meet timelines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer and team-oriented work environment while meeting deadlines.

  • Be results-oriented, strong sense of urgency, proactive and flexible,

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $145,000.00 and $270,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
