The Cardiographic Tech delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders in the stress testing and EKG labs.
The Cardiographic Tech provides quality customer service. This position ensures patients, families, visitors, referring clinicians and fellow employees are treated courteously, quickly and with respect while performing job duties of Cardiographic Technician. The Cardiographic Tech provides indirect patient care activities including maintaining a clean safe environment and ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and equipment. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current AHA BLS Certification Experience REQUIRED: 1 year acute care or medical office experience Recognizing basic cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias Ability to move and operate hospital stress lab equipment Experience PREFERRED: Experience in stress testing and holter monitoring preferred Education/training REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED Education/training PREFERRED: Associates Degree in Health Sciences or related field Independent action(s) required: Functions under direction of RN or other designated staff in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure. Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor on time/schedule changes, legal issues, directed care which deviates from standard, and identification ofeducational resources to meet developmental goals. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A Additional position requirements: Cardiographic Techniciansmay work day and evening shifts, weekends and holidays. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements or as is in the best interest of the work unit. Transporting patients within the hospital environment. Pulling and pushing.
