Will work under the direction of the CMO/VP of JV ASC's. Position Responsibilities: In collaboration with Virtua management VP/CMO JV ASC's, define, communicateand reinforcewith theambulatory surgery centers'Medical Staff, the goals and objectives of theDepartment. Develop, reviewand/or revise, in conjunction with VP/CMO JV ASC's, the medical practice safety policies, protocols, procedures, and standards(all of which shall comply with state and federalrequirements, ethical policies,andthe standards ofcertifying and accrediting ambulatory surgery center agencies, regulatory authoritiesandsuchother entitiesas VirtuaVP/CMO JV ASC's may specify). Serveon the Quality Committeesand/or Clinical OperationsCommitteesto identify issues related toquality anddevelop and assist in the implementation of plans and programs to correct identifiedqualitydeficiencies. ParticipateonJoint Venture ExecutiveBoards as requestedandon VirtuaPerformance ImprovementDepartments. Serveon and/orchair,relevantVirtuaCommitteesdesigned to further the goals of theDepartmentandVirtua as requested. Adviseand participatein creation of policies and proceduresgoverning new programs or changes in existing programs to maximize the quality and efficiency of theDepartment. Assist theVP/CMO JV ASC'sin resolving issues or conflicts between the professionalstaff ofjoint venture businesses as well asassistin resolving conflicts between professional staff and employees. Develop, in conjunction with Virtua leadership, appropriate medical and emergency medical policies and procedures related to the care and treatment of individuals utilizing theDepartmentand preparechanges as necessary to ensure that theDepartmentmeets therequirementsof federal and state law,applicable licensing requirements, certifying andaccreditingambulatory surgery centers' agencies andotherregulatoryauthorities. Planand facilitate,in conjunction withVirtuamanagement, allDepartmentclinical meetings and work with its professional staff to ensure medical standards aremet. Assistand/or adviseDepartmentmanagement on research and development initiatives on special patient/member populations and/orprograms andprovideinput on research studies and protocols conducted in and by theDepartment'sstaff. Position Qualifications Required: Required Experience: A minimum of three years Facility Director experience for an ambulatory surgical center or equivalent. Knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations, and standards, including, without limitation, Section 6032 of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, requirements for participation in Medicare and Medicaid, and all applicable standards and recommendations oftheAccreditation Associationof Ambulatory HealthCare(AAAHC) and American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities(QUADA)andJoint Commission ASC (JC),Medical Staff Bylawsand all other rules and regulations established by the Ambulatory Surgery Centersor the Medical Staff that are applicable to the operation of the Program. Required Education: MD, DO or DMD/DDS degree with a minimum of three (3) years of practice experience (3) years facility management experience. Training / Certification / Licensure: Current or prior unrestricted license to practice medicine/dentistry in the State ofNew Jersey. |
