Global Banking & Markets Operations-Dallas-Associate-Finance and Control

The Goldman Sachs Group
United States, Texas, Dallas
Mar 28, 2025

At Goldman Sachs, we connect people, capital and ideas to help solve problems for our clients. We are a leading global financial services firm providing investment banking, securities and investment management services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and individuals. For us, it's all about bringing together people who are curious, collaborative and have the drive to make things possible for our clients and communities.

YOUR IMPACT

The IB Operations Finance and Control team has an opportunity for an experienced Associate. The team is responsible for the management of firmwide expense balances and global IB revenue, allowing for direct P&L and recoverability impact.

This role allows for exposure to senior leaders of the firm, leveraging communication and negotiation skills to drive positive conversations and outcomes. The role entails close interaction with other teams, including IB Finance, Controllers, broader Investment Banking teams, and Technology, resulting in a thorough understanding of the front to back deal life cycle.

The Associate will focus on risk management and control, analyzing data and outputting reporting, driving recovery of project expenses, and serving as oversight of junior members on the team. The role requires a strong ability to multitask and compartmentalize in an extremely fast paced environment with high expectations.

The candidate will help drive IB Operations' process improvement initiatives across multiple business lines and will leverage automation to enhance reporting and streamline procedures.

OUR IMPACT

Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted area that partners with all parts of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading, and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and control to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every trade agreed, every new product launched, every new market entered, or every transaction completed, it is Operations that develops the processes and controls that make business flow.

The Finance & Control Team is responsible for the proper recognition of IB advisory fees, billing of expenses, settlement of financing payments, and overall maintenance of the expense balance sheet to create maximum recovery for the division's bottom line. In addition, the team monitors the balance sheet of deal-related expenses to promote recoverability and seeks to reduce P&L exposure by reserving for losses related to non-recoverable expenses.
