More about the role

As a Mobile App Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for helping us build and test our latest innovations. You'll be part of our multi-disciplinary Philips Hue engineering team in the Bay Area. This is a fast-growing site with responsibilities to create and maintain software products that take the Philips Hue system beyond the lighting domain. We develop first-of-a-kind products that make bright home security possible by using end-to-end video encryption, a combination of light and sound alarming, and enable presence mimicking when arming the system. Which is all controlled from the Philips Hue Mobile App for iOS and Android. We're currently extending the team to build a completely new line of products within the Hue ecosystem.

  • Design and implement new features for the Philips Hue Security system within the mobile app, leveraging the Flutter framework for both iOS and Android platforms.

  • Ensure code quality and application stability through comprehensive widget and unit testing.

  • Proactively identify and resolve bugs and perform ongoing maintenance to optimize application performance.

More about you

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline

  • Practical application development experience in at least one of the major mobile platforms (iOS/Android) using languages (Swift/Kotlin/Java) or cross platform systems (Flutter/React Native/Xamarin) using languages (Dart/Javascript/C#).

  • Knowledge of software patterns and methodologies, such as MVVM, Redux, Async/Await, Declarative programming, Reactive programming and Behavior driven unit testing.

  • Knowledge of technologies and IoT networking protocols, such as RESTful APIs, WebSockets, OAUTH, HTTP, MQTT, TLS, BLE.

  • A passion for IoT products and an affinity with Smart Home application domains like lighting and security.

Salary: $ 87,200.00- $127,930 based on experience level

Bonus: target bonus opportunity 5%
