Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time

Open Until Filled.

$22.86 to $25.15 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Cocoa/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Performs experienced professional work monitoring, maintaining, and reviewing financial and asset management records for Brevard County Asset Management. The work requires familiarity with the department's functions, policies, and procedures and involves ensuring capital assets for the Board, the Sheriff, and other Constitutional Offices are captured correctly and properly accounted for; providing administrative and financial support for surplus auctions; and making bank deposits. May provide direction and oversight to other staff members as directed.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field;ORtwo (2) years [60 semester or 90 quarter hours] of college coursework in accounting, finance, or a closely related fieldPLUS two (2) years of experience in asset management, inventory and/or property control, capital fixed assets, accounting, finance, or a closely related field. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted one for the other on a year for year basis.Experience utilizing SAP finance, asset management, and/or purchasing modules is preferred. Governmental asset management and/or inventory and property control experience is preferred.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be able to safely operate a cargo van in order to perform property control audits. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
