PURPOSE

Responsible for all aspects pertaining to lumber & panel reloads utilized by the Supply Chain including incoming shipments, trans loading, outbound shipments, inventory reconciliation and assuring compliance with all proper inventory and auditing controls. Leads team of reload/transfer assistants who provide administrative support to both Supply Chain and field locations that utilize the supply chain reloads.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Executes work and manages direct reports responsible for all administrative needs pertinent for successful execution of the supply chain reloads, including: incoming shipments, trans loading, outbound shipments, inventory reconciliation and assuring compliance with all proper inventory and auditing controls.
  • Manages the Reload/Transfer Assistants; establishes protocol, holds direct reports accountable to performance expectations, proper inventory and audit controls, service level expectations and expertise in performing certain functions necessary for the reload administration in various legacy ERP systems.
  • Conducts Performance Reviews of direct reports, taking corrective action when necessary, including performance improvement plans, training and support.
  • Maintains personnel files, interviews and hires direct reports.
  • Works with Inventory Control and Audit to assure complete knowledge of and achievement of the field support center SOP's around execution of PO's, Receipts, Transfer Orders, Sales Orders and Physical Inventory Reconciliation of the Supply Chain Reloads.
  • Works with the Category Directors to assure compliance of all appropriate inventory and order protocols related to the Reloads and their administration.
  • Identifies and Resolves exceptions and variances related to the Reload Administration, collaborating with the Category Directors, Buyers and Field Personnel to drive resolution of issues.
  • May be responsible for entry and maintenance of inventory transfer or sales orders into the legacy ERP systems.
  • Reconciles weekly inventory for numerous Reload locations. Performs and assures proper completion of periodic Physical Inventory Counts as per company policy.
  • Contacts Reloads, vendors, and transportation to obtain information concerning product, price, freight, availability, and delivery time.
  • Assists buyers in tracking late shipments and determining arrival times for shipments into lumber and structural panel reloads.
  • Serves as a liaison between Reloads, Transportation, Vendors and Buyers to ensure that stores, lumber yards and component manufacturing facilities receive their inventory in a timely manner.
  • Provides replenishment and inventory reports to buyers as needed.
  • Maintain rail car log and provide notification for shipments inbound to reloads.
  • Verify and route invoicing for both inbound and outbound reload shipments
  • Reviews, evaluates and monitors purchase and transfer sales order requisitions and ensuing shipments to ensure pertinent information is accurate and pricing is correct.
  • Maintains records of purchasing and transfer sales documents.
  • Understands all aspects of the field support center, central procurement function as it pertains to Supply Chain, supporting the Supply Chain group.
  • Maintain relationship with railroad account managers and BFS operations personnel to facilitate resolution of service and billing issues at BFS rail served locations. Work in conjunction with Buyers to oversee and communicate track and trace of inbound rail delivery of inventory.
  • Maintains and supports training documentation and/or materials for onboarding department personnel and training in core competencies in the ERP's pertinent for performing Buyer functions. Liaison with Systems and ERP Training Teams to assist Category Directors and Buyers in ERP knowledge and support.
  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



  • Bachelor's degree in related Supply Chain field. Minimum of 7 years' experience is preferred.



COMPETENCIES




  • Knowledge of material management and procurement function
  • Develops and Maintains strong understanding of all field support center SOP's pertinent to Supply Chain Reload, Inventory Control and related Audit functions.
  • Preferred experience in Rail Transportation in a multi-location, multi-carrier setting.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills, ability to think on your feet and present solutions
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and handles multiple tasks with deadlines.
  • Ability to use tack and skill in dealing with other staff, management, and vendors
  • Works effectively and efficiently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to compose effective and efficient accounting reports
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Exhibits proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program.

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on overall company success, thresholds met and other terms and conditions of the Company's active bonus policy for the respective year.
