What You'll Do

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking an experienced Environmental Technician for a 7-month project located near the Miami Airport. This role performs specific field tasks assigned by project managers and will be primarily field based. You will provide oversight and performance of routine field tests, sampling, and observations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field sampling of various media while working both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Daily communication is required with other ECS technicians and project managers and as directed, site representatives.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings with senior staff as requested
  • May be involved with calculations and data reduction of test results, drafting and other administrative duties, as required.
  • You are expected to display the ability to calibrate and use field equipment and document readings appropriately.
  • Incidental duties include office clerical tasks, report production assistance and other office related tasks.
  • Assessments on asbestos-containing materials, lead based paint, radon, and mold
  • Installing, operating, and maintaining remediation equipment
  • Other duties as assigned.

*This is a project-based assignment, initially scheduled to last approximately 7 months, starting in May 2025 with extension possibilities and/or the potential to join as a full-time employee if workload permits.


What We're Looking For

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required, advanced education preferred
  • Ability to work through the duration of the project, minimum of 7 months - starting in May 2025
  • Minimum 6 years of related experience
  • Advanced certifications or additional license may be required
  • If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - Mileage will be reimbursed

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of environmental principles, applications, and testing standards
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds a number of times each day and walk on uneven ground through various terrains.
  • Ability to independently complete daily field reports detailing site activities and observations, as well as confidently provide direction to junior staff.
