Manager, FP&A

PlayStation Studios Finance

Role Overview:

PlayStation Studios (PSS) Finance is seeking a highly skilled and motivated FP&A Manager to join our Central Finance team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of PlayStation Studios' Actual, Budget, and Quarterly Forecast processes. You will also play a key role in defining policies and driving towards global consistency in the application of business rules.

This opportunity will have you working collaboratively with PlayStation Studios leadership, Studio Finance Business Partners, Corporate Planning, Accounting, and IT to manage deliverables and drive improvements in PlayStation Studios' Financial Planning and Reporting processes.

The ideal candidate will not be afraid to question current practices and seek business improvement(s) where possible. We are also looking for someone who faces challenges with optimism and is always looking for ways to help and improve the team.

This is a remote role reporting to the Director of FP&A, who is also based remotely on the East Coast.

What you'll be doing:

  • Global P&L Consolidation: oversee the monthly global consolidation reporting process for the Studio Business Group P&L.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: lead the preparation and analysis of the Studio Business Group annual budget and quarterly forecasts, collaborating with Publishing and Studio Finance Business Partners to ensure alignment with strategic goals and business objectives.
  • Management Reporting: prepare monthly and quarterly Studios Business Group Net Operating Profit, Title Profitability, and Opex performance reporting for PlayStation Studios Management, SIE Leadership, and Sony Headquarters.
  • Analysis & Insights: perform variance analysis in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Studio Business Partners to understand business performance and provide analytical support to the Director of FP&A, highlighting key trends, variances, and opportunities in consolidated financial results.
  • Process Improvement: identify opportunities and implement process improvements to streamline and automate the consolidation process to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Compliance & Controls: manage the internal governance and approval process with PlayStation Studios Management for title reviews and other strategic investment areas.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: work closely with sales, marketing, and other finance teams to improve global alignment of internal business and reporting processes and ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting.
  • Ad hoc Support: build and maintain relationships with budget holders and other key stakeholders, provide ad-hoc financial support as required.

What we are looking for:

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Management required. Master's degree or CPA is a plus.

Experience Required:

  • At least 7 years of proven experience in an FP&A role in a large global organization, with at least 2 years in a Managerial role.
  • Proven track-record in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and building analysis to support decision-making.
  • Strong experience analyzing complex financial data and presenting it in a clear, actionable manner to senior management.
  • Experience with Planning/Consolidation OLAP tools (IBM Planning Analytics, Adaptive, Anaplan, TM1, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of GAAP/IFRS.
  • Prior experience leading major initiatives through to execution.
  • Prior experience in the video game or entertainment industry preferrable.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including effective writing and presentation skills, with the ability to work with and influence senior-level business partners.
  • Personal time management skills and the ability to work flexibly under pressure to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Takes initiative and ownership to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new processes and technologies.
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Team-based and collaborative work style.
  • Experience in SAP or other Accounting software.
  • Interest in and passion for the video game industry and games.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$147,000 $220,000 USD
