As a Tool & Die Maker at Ryerson, you will be responsible for assisting in die repairs and building new tools using manual machine lathes and grinders.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the construction of new dies from print to completion.
  • Reproduce broken details without assistance
  • Troubleshoot all dies without assistance
  • Operate all manual machines without assistance
  • Owns moderate number of tools needed to perform necessary work
  • Ensures that all tools are returned to their proper location, trash is removed, and the floor is free of debris. Tools and equipment kept clean and in good working condition.
  • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

  • Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving
  • 3 -5 year of experience tooling and machinery
  • TS/ISO Certification is a plus
  • Crane and Forklift Certified is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints
  • Mechanically inclined and strong math skills
  • Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding
