The Department of Structural Biology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital focuses on research that goes beyond static structures. We investigate the mechanisms by which dynamics manifest into function and perturbations result in disease, using a variety of experimental and computational approaches. Our research is supported by state-of-the-art Technology Core Centers within the department, dedicated to protein technologies, X-ray crystallography, NMR, cryo-EM/ET, single-molecule imaging, and computational structural biology. We are seeking a new faculty member with extensive expertise in crystallography and cryo-EM/ET. Applicants should hold a PhD degree and have a demonstrated track record of scientific excellence and leadership. St. Jude offers unparalleled startup packages, equipment, laboratory space, personnel support, and continuing institutional support beyond the start-up phase, as part of our commitment to promote excellent research. The St. Jude research community fosters a highly interactive environment, with plenty of collaborative opportunities across our basic research and clinical departments, and access to exceptional institutional shared resources that support broad research endeavors including genomics, proteomics, computational biology, CRISPR-based genome editing, mouse modeling, iPSC disease modeling, cell sorting, live-cell imaging, spatial and single-cell omics modalities, and advanced image processing and analysis. St. Jude has consistently ranked on Glassdoor's "Best Place to Work" list. More information about working at St. Jude can be found here.
