Overview

**Candidates MUST be geographically located in or near King of Prussia, Pennsylvania with a willingness to work on-site in our KoP office two days per week**

As a Director of PreSales Engineering, you will direct a highly-technical team in the selling, implementing and supporting of ePlus and partner-branded solutions.

YOUR IMPACT

The essential functions of this position include:

  • Provide guidance to customers and internal teams on emerging technologies, competitive landscape, and industry trends
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of ePlus technologies and solutions that are available to ePlus customers
  • Provide oversight for customer presentations, proposals, contracts, and services pricing.
  • Ensure that proposed solutions meet the requirements of the customer, and are aligned with ePlus strategy
  • Assist sales leadership in the development of regional strategies, and ensure there is alignment between sales support requirements and presales support capabilities
  • Work with ePlus personnel in helping to develop ePlus solutions
  • Assist sales and services management in identifying candidate solution areas for ePlus development/investment
  • Function as technical liaison and ePlus ambassador with field OEM sales and technical teams
  • Assist sales management with mentoring of junior sales account managers and pre-sales engineers as it relates to overall opportunity management and technical solution set
  • Conduct knowledge transfer with pre-sales members around solution updates, implementation 'lessons learned,' etc. on materials as relevant
  • Assist account teams with collecting customer business and technical requirements and determining ePlus recommended solution(s)
  • Assist sales account managers and pre-sales engineers with overall account planning as it relates to technical aspects of hardware, software, and services opportunity development
  • Function as a liaison between the sales team and professional services organization to review solution recommendations and to oversee the services commitments described in statements of work (SOW), as appropriate
  • As appropriate, assist ePlus sales team in dealing with customer satisfaction issues surrounding technical aspects of a recommended solution, or its implementation and deployment
  • Establish partnerships with strategic manufacturers and service providers, and attend appropriate marketing & industry events to establish a reputation as a trusted advisor within the assigned region(s)
  • Monitor key performance metrics for the presales team to ensure the team is operating efficiently and identify areas where improvement is required

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a sales or presales engineering role within the technology sector, with a demonstrated progression to managerial responsibilities
  • Track record of developing successful teams that achieve sales goals by prioritizing a positive customer experience
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience leading a presales or sales team
  • Appropriate certifications in technologies or methodologies in areas such as Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics/Business Intelligence, or Project Management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively describe technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Thorough understanding of services solutions and consulting engagements in industries such as cyber security, cloud, collaboration, and enterprise networking
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand client needs, analyze requirements, and develop tailored solutions
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies, such as solution selling or consultative selling
POSITION SPECIFICS

The base salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $150,000 and $190,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions and discretionary bonuses, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and personal leave), dependent on the position offered. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
