Duties and Responsibilities |
The Defined Benefits Coordinator assists with the daily operations of the defined benefit pension plan, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting participants with plan-related inquiries.
- Calculate estimated LUERP pension benefits for current participants.
- Perform final pension benefit calculations for terminated vested participants.
- Process, review, and distribute required paperwork for pension payments, including lump sums and annuities.
- Set up and manage pension payments through the online banking system.
- Maintain organized records of pension participants, both in physical and digital file systems.
- Clearly communicate pension benefit details and retirement processing steps to eligible participants.
- Manage a high volume of phone inquiries, providing accurate and professional assistance.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications |
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with a diverse client population, both internal and external, to relay accurate, appropriate and timely information.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Ability to be flexible in a dynamic work environment.
- Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records, and reports.
