The Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing ( MNSON) invites exceptional and promising nurse researchers to apply for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. We are dedicated to advancing nursing science to promote health equity through research focused on optimizing multilevel health outcomes of individuals, families, and communities, improving the quality of healthcare and systems, and better understanding the human experience and mechanisms underlying health.
Within the context of the Loyola University Chicago and MNSON missions, visions, values, and strategic initiatives, the faculty member will:

  • Develop and maintain a program of research that includes research dissemination in peer-reviewed journals and extramural research funding
  • Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
  • Participate in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to school, university, community, and professional committees and other activities through academic service
  • Contribute to school and university goals for inclusive excellence and antiracism

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
We are looking for candidates with programs of research consistent with the NIH National Institute of Nursing Research ( NINR) Strategic Plan.
A record of teaching, publications, and experience with extramurally funded research grants is expected commensurate with stage of career.
Appointments at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor ranks are possible. For appointments at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, a substantial nationally recognized record of research, publication, teaching, and service meeting criteria for a tenured faculty position at the Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing will be required.
Candidates will possess:

  • Research-focused doctoral degree in nursing or a related field; postdoctoral experience is preferred
  • Eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Illinois

Salary Range $90,000-$160,000
Additional Salary Information
This salary range is for a nine-month academic appointment. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs. Salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances.
