JOB SUMMARY |
The Quality Specialist Supervisor helps to improve processes that impact product quality, devises product quality audit methods, special quality studies, failure investigations and provides feedback of quality information to management. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring appropriate training is provided to achieve a higher level of technical competence in his/her work teams. |
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Ensure a Quality program is deployed to satisfy the objectives of being the best in the industry.
- Act as a technical resource for department employees.
- Directs quality studies of production methods, procedures, processes, materials, purchased components, prototypes and new products as required.
- Leads root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action formulation and auditing of implementation/ institutionalization
- Manage employees: Assure work assignments are being completed effectively, set performance and quality expectations, assist employees to resolve production problems, maintain accurate time records, ensure all employees have current and necessary training, maintain an orderly and safe work environment.
- Participate in hiring process and develop training plans for new employees.
- Regularly assess employee performance to Company expectations, resolve employee problems, conduct investigations into safety, quality, or other incidents, and administer discipline within the corporate guidelines.
- Conduct investigations necessary related to quality, safety, or other production related matters.
- Provides data and data analysis for daily/weekly/monthly/annual business reporting

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES |
- The Supervisor acts as a facilitator of Quality Control practices and is responsible for all activities that occur in his/her department.
- S/he must be thoroughly knowledgeable of all processes, procedures and instructions that are applicable in his/her respective department to act as a technical resource and be able to troubleshoot process interruptions as they occur.
- Supervisor to act as a role model and as an agent of the Company.
- Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of their respective department and therefore must be able to be mobile around the manufacturing areas.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
Required Education / Experience
- Candidates with a Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in related field or at least 5 years of quality/manufacturing experience.
- It is beneficial to possess a background in continuous improvement activities including SPC techniques, Six Sigma, basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, problem-solving, and Supervisory experience.

Key Working Relationships The Quality Specialist Supervisor interacts with other leaders and employees as a process consultant, supporting Operating Plan objectives through process improvement and control. This person will represent the customer regarding quality and reliability decisions. This individual will lead a team of Quality Specialists and Technicians, and must be able to develop and coach team members to produce a world-class organization Physical Demands Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Working Conditions Shop-floor and office environment, located on large manufacturing campus, High voltage testing environment, transformer manufacturing, electrical sub-stations |
