Purpose of Position
Assist the Vice President of Advancement and Executive Director of the NKU Foundation with the day-to-day operations of the Foundation and Vice President's office.
Primary Responsibilities

  • VP Executive Support and Workflow Management: Oversee VP approvals, calendar management, and ensure the smooth flow of priority tasks. Provide administrative support to ensure timely completion of VP's critical action items.

  • Foundation budget and Financial Oversight: Manage the foundation's budget, track salaries, incentive packages, and contracts. Approve expenses and provide counsel to the VP on available funds for various initiatives.

  • Board Relations and Engagement: Cultivate relationships with Foundation Board members to support engagement and support board activities. Coordinate communication with the Foundation Board, including distributing annual reports, meeting minutes, and other board-related documents.

  • Committee and Executive Support: Support board committees and the Executive Director on key projects, including real estate transactions, RFPs, policy updates, and strategic plan development. Assist in the execution of major initiatives and ensure alignment with university objectives.

  • Foundation Board Meeting Coordination: Coordinates all aspects of Foundation board meeting logistics, creates documents and presentations as needed, takes meeting minutes, and ensure follow-up actions are clearly outlined for the Executive Director.

  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintains records of the NKU Foundation Board of Directors. Organize and update policy documents, orientation materials and agreements for board review.

  • University Advancement Budget Management: Oversee the University Advancement budget, running regular reports to identify issues and ensure the division stays within university targets. Monitor salary savings, manage funds for new contracts and investments, and track incoming revenue related to the commencement budget.

  • Procurement and Investment Management: Manages banking-related and procurement matters, including investment management (e.g. subscriptions, liquidations, capital calls) and buys/sells in the student investment account at the professor's request.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience required.

  • Demonstrated experience working in budget management
  • Demonstrated experience working with boards/volunteers/donors
  • Experience and ease working with community and business leaders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong sense of integrity and honesty

Minimum Education Acceptable Equivalency
Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Experience 5 years
