Job Summary

Job Description

Full time position that directs the activities of warehouse personnel and coordinators involved in shipping domestic as well as international shipments, all receiving functions and inventory control within all departments noted above. Maintain accurate inventory within all departments. Oversee associates on the floor, assign each worker specific tasks based on the specialization for maximum output. Ability to lead within a fact pace environment. This position requires the ability to perform all responsibilities in a safe and accurate and timely manner in accordance with Safety policy and procedures, Quality and the principles of 6S+1 and time standards. Provide training as needed to new associates. Ability to lead in 6S and promote safe work environment. Ensure that the work environment is healthy and conducive for workers to carry out their duties without subjecting themselves to any harm or danger.

Oversee multiple departments and ensure all processes are being followed to ensure correct products are processed and shipped to Nidec customers. Oversee and support Merkle-Korff and Imperial teams inbound receiving, auditing inbound to ensure 100% accuracy. Report any discrepancies to supervisor to review and resolve with plant or suppliers. Oversee and support daily putaway for inbound deliveries. Oversee and support daily outbound shipments, checking orders, labeling and loading shipments all with 100% accuracy. EOD report is complete and accurate.

Oversee and support the MOD center to ensure customer orders are built to customer specifications. Orders are shipped on time, complete and accurate. The daily productivity report is accurate for orders in process and orders scheduled to ship.

Oversee and support customer returns to ensure returns are processed in a timely fashion and putaway into FG stock. All putaway must be 100% accurate. Oversee and support repairs to damaged returns as well as damaged in-house stock. Order parts as needed for repair. Maintain inventory for RMA and repair.rebox. Support HOT shipments for damaged inventory to ensure the customer receives orders as SSD requires. EOD report is complete and accurate.

Oversee International department to ensure associates are working effectively to transfer stock from FG to FGINT. Work directly with international coordinator to ensure associates are allocated as needed. Ability to work with power tools such as saws, nail guns, staple guns and other tools necessary to build crates to ship internationally. EOD report is complete and accurate

Assist warehouse manager with development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures: ensure all established policies and procedures are followed by team members. Leads by example and trains, motivates, coaches, rewards team members. Leads crew by example by picking, checking, loading, cleaning and/or performing other duties as necessary.

Education & Experience:

  • High School graduate
  • 2-3 years' experience in warehouse / logistics required. Shipping / Receiving / Inventory Management
  • 2 years' experience utilizing WMS

Skills needed:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Computer literacy includes Warehouse Management Systems, Warehouse Controls Systems and MS Office (word, excel, internet explorer) PC skills at an intermediate or higher level, system knowledge at an intermediate level. Create and update spreadsheets. Oracle WMS experience a plus.
  • Must have excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisor and management.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities in a timely manner. Ability to respond and re-priorities with business requirement.
  • Ability to prioritize work demands and re-prioritize as needed.
  • Ability to delegate and see tasks are completed as assigned.
  • Work as the middleman between management and workers to facilitate good communication and airing of complaints of both parties, and see to it that all issues are sorted out
  • Check all incoming stock to ensure they are in good condition. Damaged stock is handled within proper procedure. Accurately signed for with proper documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various team and committees
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Must be able to forklift certified to operate sit-down lift, order picker and reach truck.
  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary to support all departments

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Position requires sitting, walking, stooping, bending, talking in person and by phone or video; the stamina to work the shift as scheduled and on a regular basis, ability to work in a non-climate controlled facility with exposure to heat and/or cold in accordance with weather conditions, lifting large, small or awkwardly shaped items on a regular or repeated basis as needed; extensive use of computer equipment.
