You will identify defects and recommend improvements by conducting inspections and tests in this role. Primary Responsibilities
Conducting various inspections and tests on products to ensure compliance with quality standards Maintaining accurate records and documentation of inspection findings and outcomes. Identifying defects or issues and providing recommendations for improvement. Providing training and guidance to other inspectors and production staff on quality control procedures. Supporting the development and implementation of quality control procedures. Setting up and operating a Brown & Sharpe Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Initiating and processing product nonconformances.
Requirements
Demonstrate quality control and inspection expertise through relevant work experience. Be able to use various measurement tools and equipment, including CMMs using metrology software like PC-DMIS. Be able to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers Possess analytical abilities and a keen eye for detail. Makes good decisions (without considering how much time it takes) based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment; most of his/her solutions and suggestions turn out to be correct and accurate when judged over time; sought tout by others for advice and solutions.
Physical Requirements
Mobility: Ability to move around the production floor and access various workstations. Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in handling and using inspection tools and equipment. Visual Acuity: Sharp vision to detect defects and perform detailed inspections. Standing/Sitting: Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during inspections. Lifting: Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. Reaching/Bending: Ability to reach, bend, and stoop to inspect products and equipment. Communication: Clear verbal communication skills to interact with team members and report findings.
Travel Requirements
Frequency: Occasional travel may be required, approximately 10-20% of the time. Purpose: Travel to supplier sites, customer locations, or other company facilities to conduct inspections, audits, and quality assessments. Duration: Trips may range from day visits to multi-day stays, depending on the project requirements. Mode of Transportation: Travel by car, plane, or other means as necessary to reach various locations. Flexibility: Ability to adjust travel plans on short notice to address urgent quality issues or support critical projects. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of travel expenses and submit timely reports as per company policy.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay for this position is $28.12 to $38.67 per hour depending on the geographic market.
