HDR is looking for a Power Delivery Project Engineer to join our growing Power Delivery team in the Hawaii Area. Specific duties include:
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Provide technical leadership to ensure the quality program is implemented effectively.
- Support preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that schedules and budgets are met
- Understands design requirements in Substation, Transmission and Distribution.
- Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
- Prepare calculations for studies and reports as well as planning models (grounding, lighting protection, AC/DC load studies, Synergi etc.)
- Review project documents for areas of conflict with other disciplines
- Coordinate workload with the power design team
- Establish meetings and participate in reviews with clients
- Coordinate workload to complete deliverables on schedule
- Work independently and may direct, mentor, train, quality check, and/or supervise efforts of other Engineers, Project Coordinators or Designers, or BIM Technicians as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Engineering
- Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years of experience
- Professional Engineers (PE) license
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
