HDR is looking for a Power Delivery Project Engineer to join our growing Power Delivery team in the Hawaii Area.

Specific duties include:



  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure the quality program is implemented effectively.
  • Support preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that schedules and budgets are met
  • Understands design requirements in Substation, Transmission and Distribution.
  • Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
  • Prepare calculations for studies and reports as well as planning models (grounding, lighting protection, AC/DC load studies, Synergi etc.)
  • Review project documents for areas of conflict with other disciplines
  • Coordinate workload with the power design team
  • Establish meetings and participate in reviews with clients
  • Coordinate workload to complete deliverables on schedule
  • Work independently and may direct, mentor, train, quality check, and/or supervise efforts of other Engineers, Project Coordinators or Designers, or BIM Technicians as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Engineering
  • Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Professional Engineers (PE) license
  • Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
