Adobe Firefly Applied Science & Machine Learning (ASML) group is looking for a Firefly model architect (Principal Scientist) specialized in Foundational Generative AI models for Imaging domain, to solve user workflows for our creative professionals. We are looking for experienced candidates with hands-on GenAI model training experience (image generation and editing). We seek candidates with strong expertise in the GenAI research field, as evidenced by peer-reviewed academic publications.

As a Firefly model architect, you will join an outstanding team of applied researchers and engineers in building the future of digital experiences. You will drive the thought leadership and help set long-term innovation and technical strategy . You will be leading one or more key areas of the Foundational Image Generation models and applications space.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work across different teams as an uber tech lead to set the technical charter for Firefly Foundational Image Generation model.
  • Ability to convert a research idea/paper to code in Python and typical machine learning development toolkits.
  • Collaborate with outstanding researchers and engineers to bring research ideas to production.
  • Conduct applied research and development in GenAI models
  • Develop models and applications based on the Firefly foundation models for Adobe products
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship for junior team members.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI/ML or related fields
  • Excellent communication skills. Good articulation and storytelling to convey technical visions within cross functional teams.
  • Excellent technical leadership skill. Experience in tech leading large number of contributors on time sensitive and business critical GenAI projects.
  • Experience in state-of-the-art Generative AI technologies, such as GAN, diffusion, transformer models
  • Strong hands-on experience with GenAI model training
  • Strong collaboration skill. Experience with working in a Matrix organization, driving alignment, drawing conclusions and getting things done
  • Working with large-scale datasets

Preferred experience:

  • Experience and deep understanding of the nature and development phases of GenAI research
  • Working with product teams on technology transfers. Experience with working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Good publication record in Computer Science, AI/ML or related fields

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
