The Imaging Technical Analyst is responsible for supporting the Imaging Technical Coordinator in the operation of the Diagnostic Imaging Department by ensuring Imaging operations are in working order, creating a seamless workflow environment ensuring exams are reviewed in a timely manner to maintain a high-level of patient care at. This individual will assist the radiologist, other physicians, technologist, Administrative Director, and staff acting as a resource person to resolve day-to-day operational issues occurring in the Diagnostic Imaging Dept.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of an Imaging Technical Analyst at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

1. Coordinates the day-to-day operation of image workflow, prior exams, and other related activities.
2. Assists in the creation of user profile accounts for new Radiologists, new Technologists and referring Clinicians on the various Imaging Operations. Provides continued support by protecting patient's rights as well as employee and organizational information.
3. Identifies hardware or software problems and takes steps to resolve them quickly by troubleshooting, placing and tracking tickets to resolve issues in a timely manner, thus ensuring a high level of patient care.
4. Provides all necessary support to Radiologist, Technologist, workstation related issues for users onsite and remote.
5. Provides training to users to ensure efficient and effective use of imaging equipment and software.
6. Directs and coordinates with ancillary imaging personnel to maximize equipment upkeep. Records and documents such upkeep and makes replacement recommendations based on equipment condition.
7. Maintains data integrity and synchronization with other Medical Center systems.
8. Updates splits, changes, merges, and deletes studies upon proper written request maintaining a record (Study Change Request Form) of all such changes.
9. Run monthly reports as needed for Radiology Billing.
10. Daily monitor study status to clear up and facilitate timely reading by Radiologists. This includes the monitoring and investigating of studies in Sent status to prevent dictation delays.
11. Daily correction and removal of anomalies found on exams.
12. Assist OR in the obtaining and confirmation of markings on MRI prostates slated for biopsy.
13. Assists and prepares Radiologist for imaging readiness for conferences and presentations following information access and confidentiality hospital procedures.
14. Monitors, analyzes, resolves, and reports on unread studies.
15. Provide on-site support pre, intra, and post downtime and resolve issues related to ensure recovery and uninterrupted operations.
16. Transmit exams to outside facilities and ensure that exams were received by these facilities.
17. Provide support in the use of image exchange for various Clinical Offices.
18. Support Clinical Trial research to provide anonymized studies.
19. Act as a liaison between IT and Vendors for deployment and optimization of equipment.
20. Reconcile trauma imaging studies.
21. Renders service and/or assistance to all patients depending on the individual needs and the abilities to move, turning, getting on and off of the x-rays tables, etc.
22. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
23. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
2. Familiarity with specific Radiology Information Systems applications.
3. Basic understanding of operating systems software (Windows 10/11, Chrome OS) and Web browser use (Internet Explorer or Google Chrome).
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

1. Satisfactory completion of a formal Allied Imaging School.
2. A minimum of 3 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
3. Familiar with specific Diagnostic Imaging operations.
4. Bachelor's of Science Degree.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

1. NJ Registered Radiological Technologist License*
2. Member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)*
3. Maintains CEU Credits*
