General Purpose of Job: Supervises systemwide warehousing, material operations, receiving, courier drivers, product replenshment, distribution, and affilliate capital projects with a focus on customer service. Conducts process improvement projects related to the entire Health System. Ensures that quality and performance standards are maintained across Sparrow Health System. Works with union representatives on Caregiver development and discipline issues. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

Supervise daily Supply Chain activities at assigned locations to include guidance and direction to Caregivers and lead workers. -
Integrate off site operations with those of the Health System, applying methods and processes that maximize use of and adherence to Health System established procedures. -
Standardize supplies, services, and equipment across the Health System based on process improvement methodologies. -
Monitor warehoused supplies and coordinate inventory levels to increase timely fulfillment rates. -
Monitor Caregiver productivity and advise Caregivers on cost and quantity control practices in collaboration with Sparrow Value Analysis Teams (VAT). -
Support the introduction of new supplies and product conversions at all sites, ensuring clinicians and Caregivers are adequately prepared and informed. -
Maximize use of Health System contracts and ensure compliance. -
Supervise, train, mentor and motivate the Supply Chain Caregivers to achieve maximum performance, teamwork and continuous quality improvement. -
Prepare Caregiver daily schedules and assignments and order supplies as needed. -
Oversee off-site supply deliveries and modify courier routes as needed utilizing courier software system. -
Monitor Supply Chain Caregiver performance, complete statistics and recommend improvements in service. -
Assist the Manager in hiring, developing, and disciplining of Supply Chain Caregivers as necessary. Completes Caregiver Performance Appraisal. -
Ensure that payroll is completed on a biweekly basis. -
Assist in the development of departmental operating and capital financial plans. -
Maintain Caregiver records as specified in Human Resources Policies/Procedures and the UAW Contract. -
Assist in the development of departmental policies and procedures. -
Prepare and conduct departmental meetings and maintain records of content and attendance. -
Ensure compliance with Sparrow Health System Safety and Infection Control Policies and Procedures. - Serve as a safety and disaster preparedness Supply Chain contact for assigned locations.
Job Requirements
General Requirements |
* Valid driving license. * Chauffeur's license to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. * Currently hold or be able to pass and maintain a DOT medical card. |

Education |
* High school diploma/GED and a minimum of 7 years of increasing responsibility in materials management, inventory control, distribution, purchasing, or materials management information systems; OR Associates degree in business or related field and a minimum of 5 years of increasing responsibility in materials management, inventory control, distribution, purchasing, or materials management information systems; OR Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business or related field and a minimum of 3 years of increasing responsibility in materials management, inventory control, distribution, purchasing, or materials management information systems. |
Specialized Knowledge and Skills |
* Advanced professional experience with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint. * Demonstrated understanding of advanced supply chain concepts and strategies. * Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional presence. * Demonstrated experience in a customer service environment. * Demonstrated ability to work creatively, independently and analytically in a problem-solving environment. * Experience using mobile technology in a professional environment. * Demonstrated experience working in a process improvement and change orientated workplace. * Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. |
