Job Summary:



The Whole Person Pain Service (WPPS) Virtual Health & Scheduling Professional will play a vital role in our commitment to providing exceptional chronic pain care to patients on chronic opioids in the Department of Family Medicine. The Virtual Health & Scheduling Professional will have the opportunity to care for a high-risk population in a virtual environment to enhance the patient experience and improve access to quality care.

We are seeking individuals who are passionate and have experience in healthcare and have a strong background in customer service and technology. The Virtual Health & Scheduling Professional will work to schedule, room, and serve as a point person for the patients within the service.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct virtual health appointments with patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Schedule patients for intake, return patient visit, and group psychotherapy visits.
  • Ensure appropriate screeners are sent out to patients prior to their visits.
  • Ensure behavioral health referrals are processed and active prior to behavioral health visits.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to patients during virtual appointments.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of virtual appointments and patient interactions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality and timely virtual care delivery.
  • Educate patients on how to use virtual health technology and ensure they have a positive experience.



Work Location:



Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule with occasional meeting on the Anschutz campus in Aurora, Colorado as needed.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field.
  • One (1) year of experience with patient registration and insurance processes.


A combination of education and related professional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • A background in healthcare, such as a degree in nursing or medical assisting.
  • One (1) or more years of patient/client-facing experience.
  • Previous professional experience within a medical office.
  • EPIC experience.
  • Bilingual, Spanish/English.
  • Experience with virtual health technology, including video conferencing platforms and electronic health records.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to consult with physician, APPs, and/or behavioral health therapist on patient care and administrative issues.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA with the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to prioritize and respond to emergencies in a calm manner.
  • Ability to verbalize information/directions clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks and complete administrative duties correctly and on time.
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual setting.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $61,546 - $78,287.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
