Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric and Young Adult Medicine

Description

Working in collaboration with the physician group, the Advanced Practice Provider will assess and treat patients and engage in independent decision making about their health care needs.

This is a full-time position working M-F shifts depending on location, 7:30am-5:00pm , 8:30am-5:00pm, and 8:30am-6:00pm and rotating Saturdays 8:30am-12:00pm. This role will support our St. Paul, Maplewood, and Eagan clinics.

Pediatric and Young Adult Medicine is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.


Essential Functions:

  • Perform complete, detailed and accurate histories
  • Review patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports
  • Order laboratory, radiology and diagnostic studies appropriate for complaint
  • Complete physical examinations and record pertinent data
  • Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine patient management and treatment
  • Make medical diagnoses and institute therapy and/or referrals
  • Provide instruction and guidance regarding medical care matters to patients
  • Complete review of outside records and complete paperwork as needed for patients. Return phone calls for lab and radiology tests. These tasks may be performed outside of clinic hours.
  • Occasionally participate in community functions relating to PYAM outreach events throughout the year
  • Any and all other duties as assigned


Education and Experience Requirements:



  • Successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner
    (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant program.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • NCCPA certification
  • Minnesota Board of Medical Practice registration/license
  • DEA registration
  • Experience pediatric medicine preferred
  • Comfortable with email, phone and instant messaging for patient and staff interaction

  • Travel independently throughout the clinic (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required

  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions
  • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Travel to other work locations, if required
