This position reports to Institutional Research and Assessment (IRA) in support of its data preparation mission. IRA is not an Information Technology shop. Our office does not administer the database software or servers, nor do we manage database security. Instead, we build, debug, edit, and optimize data objects within our Oracle database schema to enhance the office's reporting capabilities. This position
requires
experience and skills with these data preparation activities.
-Working with snapshot and operational data sources to develop data objects that address business area questions
-Developing and maintaining
ETL operations (via DI Studio at the moment)
-Investigating and correcting database object errors and/or failures
-Translating
UNC-SO
SAS code into replicable database objects for further exploration.
-Work with the
ITS to ensure that needed operational University data from various sources, including PeopleSoft and Slate, are available in the warehouse for IR use
