Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced engineer to support efforts in the VIRGINIA Class instrumentation and control (I&C) and electric plant systems. In this role you will collaborate with a team of engineers to design, deliver, and support shipboard embedded I&C and electrical power generation/distribution systems that are used to operate reactor I&C systems.

You will have the opportunity to use laboratory capabilities to troubleshoot and resolve fleet issues, as well as design, develop and test shipboard embedded I&C and electric plant systems. In this position you will develop strong systems engineering skills, collaborate with stakeholder organizations, assess and recommend revisions to I&C and electrical systems and procedures, and support in-person familiarization for U.S. Navy operators on I&C and electric plant systems.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously NPE qualified; or CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.

Pay Range
$83,600.00 - $130,700.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
