Position Summary

The Supervisor will oversee responsibilities related to Domestic, Global, and Derivatives Settlements. This role entails ensuring the seamless execution of securities trade settlements by confirming and finalizing transactions, liaising with brokers and custodian banks regarding security and foreign exchange instructions, and addressing any trade discrepancies. The Supervisor will collaborate closely with outsourced service providers and various Investment Teams located in Los Angeles, New York, London, Tokyo, and Singapore to guarantee effective and efficient service delivery. Key responsibilities will encompass timely trade settlements and the follow-up and resolution of trades and foreign exchange transactions pertaining to Emerging Market Trades in both Equity and Fixed Income.



Essential Duties

    Ensure service providers have confirmed all Global and Derivatives trades daily on the day of trade execution. Obtain trade tickets from Portfolio Supervisors via Trade Blotter, and verify all aspects of trade confirmation with broker and custodians and efficient trade settlements.
  • Understand the unique requirements for confirming and settling trades in the Emerging Markets and other Global regions, and for FX trade instructions and settlements.
  • Oversee and ensure accurate SWIFT trade communication and fax instructions for instructing and settling Emerging Market and Global trades via Euroclear and in the local markets for securities and FX transactions.
  • Maintain updated broker settlement instructions for FX, Cash, and Securities for all markets.
  • Serves as an escalation point in resolving daily settlement issues - Unmatched transactions, FX instructions, failed settlements, claims, and overdrafts, involving research, communication, and dispute resolution.
  • Develop and implement effective procedures and workflows to mitigate risk exposures to fails and losses.
  • Support the development of trading in new products, identify and implement automated solutions for manual processes.
  • Implement vendor oversight by reviewing SLAs and KPIs, in addition to assessing the overall quality of service offered by the service provider.
  • Evaluate and partner with external vendors to drive efficiencies and utilize best practices.
  • Provide guidance on complex operational/settlement issues to internal partners across all levels of the firm


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a similar field
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience performing similar duties with a buy-side fixed income asset Supervisor, or equivalent sell side experience
  • Knowledge of SWIFT trade communication for instructing and settling Emerging Market and Global trades via Euroclear and in the local markets (securities and FX)
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills (must establish good rapport with internal and external business partners, including broker/dealers and custodians)
  • Proven experience with implementing efficient procedures and automated solutions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize, multi-task, and consistently meet deliverables


Professional Skills Qualifications

  • Familiarity with, Bloomberg, Trade Web, and CTM, ALERT, FailStation is desired
  • Knowledge of global fixed income securities/instruments, including derivatives and currency is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Financial Services industry including global securities and foreign currency transactions
  • Knowledge of trade communication via BBH Infomediary is a plus

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For CA based position, the base salary range is $135k to $150k. This is an anticipated range only.

Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
