Carnegie Mellon University: Tepper School of Business Description The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking an Associate Dean Masters Programs (ADM). This important role will provide academic leadership for our portfolio of master's programs, including the flagship MBA program, as well as the Master of Science in Business Analytics, Master of Science in Management, Master of Science in Product Management, and potentially other emerging programs. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Education, the Associate Dean will be responsible for ensuring the academic excellence, market relevance, and overall success of these programs. They will drive innovation, fostering a collaborative environment, and enhancing the school's reputation as a leader in graduate business education. This individual will work closely with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to achieve program objectives and contribute to the school's overall mission. Our expectation is that this individual will have an academic record suitable for appointment as a tenured faculty in the tenure track or as an associate or full professor in the teaching track at the Tepper School. Primary Responsibilities Strategic Leadership and Vision: * Contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic vision for the masters programs, aligning with the school's overall strategic plan. * Lead the development and launch of new programs. * Drive continuous improvement and innovation in curriculum design. Team Leadership: * Direct Reports: Director, Learning Evaluation and Success; Associate Director, Learning Technologies. * Secondary (dotted-line) reporting relationship: Assistant Dean of Masters Programs (who manages the day-to-day operations of the masters programs); and Executive Directors of each master's program. * Foster a collaborative environment among the Assistant Dean, Executive Directors, and other program staff, ensuring alignment with the school's strategic objectives. * Facilitate regular meetings and communication channels to ensure effective information sharing and coordination across program teams. Program and Curricular Management: * Oversee course planning and staffing. * Monitor program performance and enhance student satisfaction. * Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and university policies. * Oversee curricular reviews and develop co-curricular activities. * Resolve program-level policies and issues. Academic Excellence and Faculty Collaboration: * Ensure academic rigor and relevance of program curricula. * Support faculty in innovative teaching methods. * Foster a supportive environment for faculty engagement. Liaison with Central Administration: * Represent the school at the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs (ADGP) meetings. * Coordinate with the SAD-E on other university-level engagements and collaborations.
