The Company's Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 91,760.00 USD - 120,435.00 USD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives. As the Associate Manager, Hardware, you will be a key contributor to our long-term strategy and be responsible for profitable business growth in the Hardware Channel. In this role, you will manage all customer and broker management activities for customers including Ace, True Value, Orgill, Menards and Do It Best across multiple departments/categories.

You will have the opportunity to grow through a variety of experiences and a general management approach to the business by demonstrating leadership, high-impact decision making, broker management, strategic planning, and customer relationship management. How you approach the work is as important as the business results since we are looking for someone who wants to be part of a values-driven team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, prioritize and manage multiple objectives within the growth plan including: distribution, pricing, promotion, merchandising, category expansion, and shopper marketing

  • Translate objectives for our House of Brands into key priorities for broker partners and able to hold self and others accountable for results

  • Collaborate and build a strong sense of team externally with customers and broker partners

  • Build rapid, strong relationships based on credibility and trust across multiple layers of management; elevate presence within customer's hierarchy

  • Spend within trade budget, assess plan for effectiveness, and make appropriate adjustments

  • Deeply understand the strategic purpose of our brands as well as our customer's to bridge strategies and drive long-term profitable growth for both parties

  • Be the "voice of the Hardware Channel" for planning new product launches and other ad hoc business developments as needed as well as leading the forecasting process with Finance and Operations

  • Forecasting + Planning - Lead demand planning and forecasting for a portion of the business. Develop, analyze and adapt Promotional and merchandising plans to achieve objectives.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years experience with a large national retailer

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • 2+ years experience selling within the Hardware channel

  • General Management mindset; proven ownership approach to business

  • A strategic thinker, proactive diplomatic problem solver and a detail-oriented tactician

  • Stamina, character, sense of humor, proactive approach, and work ethic appropriate for a fast-paced, team-oriented, growth company

  • Proven track record of delivering consistent, positive business results

  • Ability to manage budgets and overall trade management

  • Excellent effective communication / collaboration, presentation skills and a colorful storyteller

  • Strong motivational Team Leadership and Broker management

  • Curious and analytical mindset; ability to independently assess data, integrate into selling stories and leverage it to grow our business

  • Experience in analyzing syndicated data (ex. Nielsen)

  • Strong technical skills: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Web and other required computer applications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a Home Office based role. Ideal candidate will live in/near Chicago, IL OR major airport to be attend customer calls & trade shows.

  • Travel up to 20%

  • This role is not eligible for relocation assistance
