Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time

$27.70 to $30.47 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Merritt Island/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Performs skilled crafts and trades work supervising activities and crews involved in the development, construction, repair and maintenance of roads, streets, highways, parking lots, impoundment areas, and landfills. Supervises work crews.

REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the construction, repair and/or maintenance of public works projects related to the area of assignment.Must have experience planning, prioritizing, and supervising the work of staff responsible for landscape maintenance of roadway medians and rights of ways, stormwater ponds, and other areas of assignment. Must be skilled in the preparation of bid specifications for contracted landscape services and special projects. Must have experience monitoring and inspecting in-house and contracted work crews to ensure all landscaping, irrigation, and maintenance work is performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and contract requirements. Experience documenting daily work and projects through a work management system software and mobile device is preferred. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess or obtain within nine (9) months of employment, a Florida Public Pesticide Applicator License with certification in right-of-way pest control and aquatic pest control categories.Must possess or obtain within nine (9) months of employment, a Florida LTD Commercial Fertilizer Applicator License with a certificate of completion in Green Industry Best Management Practices. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, a current Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification, and maintain said certification during the term of employment.In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
