Overview

*Candidates MUST be geographically located in or near Northern Virginia with a willingness to work on-site in ePlus' Herndon, Virginia headquarters once per week*

As an Accounts Payable Specialist II, you will be part of the ePlus finance organization, responsible for processing invoices and travel & expense reports for payment.

YOUR IMPACT

As an Accounts Payable Specialist II, you will be part of the ePlus finance organization, responsible for the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, payments, and related tasks.

The essential functions of this position include:

  • Process payable invoices in a timely manner, including payments via check, ACH, and wire transfers.
  • Review and process all vendor invoices assigned, received via email or listed on statements.
  • Ensure accuracy of vendor invoices by cross-checking vendor names, dates, prices, currencies, and quantities with purchase orders and receipts in the accounting system.
  • Verify that vendor account information matches payment details in the ePlus system.
  • Confirm that items received by the warehouse match vendor invoices and are processed accordingly.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies on invoices by collaborating with vendors, purchasing, invoicing, and other departments as needed.
  • Print and obtain signatures for accounts payable checks; on-site presence is required for check payments processing.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies timely.
  • Keep detailed notes of any disputes or discrepancies, including actions taken and outcomes, to ensure proper tracking and resolution.
  • Respond to inquiries about outstanding invoices in a timely and professional manner.
  • Keep management informed of any issues causing delays in payments.
  • File accounts payable documentation accurately in the appropriate vendor folders in a shared drive online.
  • Generate and review reports within the accounting system to ensure timely processing of open items.
  • Assist with preparing documentation for internal or external audits.
  • Provide support and training to other Accounts Payable team members as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree preferred High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a mid-size to large corporate environment
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency (e.g. VLOOKUP, pivot tables, running reports)
  • Experience with Great Plains Software/Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred
  • The ability to organize and produce detailed and accurate work
  • Capable of juggling a busy schedule to accommodate last minute requests and meet tight deadlines, on a daily basis
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset to be an effect team player
POSITION SPECIFICS

The base salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $21.63 and $26.44 hourly; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions and discretionary bonuses, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and personal leave), dependent on the position offered. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
