Overview

BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking an Electronic Warfare Capabilities Lead with 3+ years of experience to work with the F-35 Integrated Product Team (IPT) at NAVAIR Weapons Division, Point Mugu, CA. Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $100,000 USD to $155,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range


Responsibilities

Functional Description

The major responsibilities include leading a multi-disciplinary team of program office personnel in the identification of system requirements; providing clear and unambiguous requirements trace from government artifacts to the platform prime contractor & Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) artifacts. These requirements will need occasional correction and must trace into the designs for F-35 EW systems along with the test and evaluation and analysis of system performance.

    Serve as Functional and Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) in countermeasures, electronic warfare, software architecture and sensors
  • Evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes, including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination
  • Conduct research and interview SMEs to gather information for incorporation into technical documentation
  • Interact with OEM engineering leadership reviewing and commenting on technical artifacts, providing technical input to the OEM project execution, while providing awareness to Joint Program Office leadership
  • Provide oversight of OEM testing and verification of contracted F-35 EW capabilities
  • Serve as an integral part of the test team, providing oversight of test planning, obtaining required test resources, and participating in test conduct
  • Review and provide corrections to test reports in accordance with Joint Program Office policy
  • Document any defects found during testing independently and separately from the OEM using government information technology networks and resources.
  • At the end of each test segment/period, review and provide comments on configuration change requests to the EW IPT lead prior to an Engineering Review Board (ERB)
  • Write and update intermediate and final technical documents including system requirements and design specifications/documents, white papers, and engineering notes
  • Lead project-related meetings (milestone reviews, status, design, etc.), and both host and conduct technical meetings and teleconferences
  • 25% to 50% of the work may be at alternate sites - requiring travel within the Continental United States


Qualifications

  • 3-10 years' experience performing the duties described in the functional description.
  • 3+ years' electronic warfare experience.
  • 3+ years' systems engineering hardware and software experience.
  • 3+ years' experience writing and updating system requirements and design specifications/documents, white papers, and engineering notes.
  • 3+ years' experience developing and executing test plans.
  • 3+ years' Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition experience supporting:
    • Systems Engineering and Technical Reviews (SETR) events to ensure that defense systems meet requirements, perform as expected, and maintain quality standards throughout their development lifecycle.
    • Deficiency Reports (DRs) used to identify and track deficiencies, problems, or non-conformances in systems, equipment, or processes being developed or used by the DoD.
    • System Performance Assessment Reports (SPARS) documenting system performance against requirements and tracking issues that need resolution during development and testing phases of defense systems.
    • Drafting, merging, and maintaining MS Project schedules.
  • Ability to work independently, in a team environment, or lead a small team.
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Project, MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening-for staff, customer, and organizational level communications, both formal and informal.

Education

  • MS or MA degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional 4 years of relevant work experience, with a bachelor's degree, may be substituted for a master's degree.

Clearance

  • Condition of employment - must have and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • The applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
