Your Role on the Team As an experienced professional in K-14 academic preparation, the Upward Bound Program Specialist independently works with assigned institutions and organizations to design, plan and implement the Upward Bound program. The primary responsibilities are: student advising to assess academic progress; developing personalized educational plans for students; mentoring participants on a variety of college access topics including, but not limited to, Matriculation, Financial Literacy and Student Wellness/Summer Melt; assists with managing a variety of programmatic events including monthly Saturday Sessions, and participates in residential (overnight) summer session at UCI and college campus visits. Develops and maintains program visibility in schools including participant recruitment and retention. Assists with planning and facilitating monthly (bilingual) parent engagement/meetings and tutor programming for those participants who need assistance with HS subjects. Assists with maintaining collaborative relationships with K-14 and higher education institutions and / or community entities as well as with other college-going programs.
