Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Negotiator to join our Casualty Solutions Group, focusing on workers' compensation cases. This role involves conducting back-end negotiations with attorneys to resolve complex claims efficiently and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in medical coding, network negotiations, provider-side experience, or paralegal work to this challenging position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct back-end negotiations with attorneys on workers' compensation claims
  • Analyze complex medical and legal documents to determine appropriate negotiation strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure optimal claim outcomes
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on negotiation activities and outcomes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations
  • Utilize negotiation skills to achieve favorable settlements while maintaining positive relationships
  • Manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and effectively
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of negotiation strategies and best practices


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, which can include but is not limited to workers' compensation, medical coding, network negotiations, or paralegal work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to be assertive in negotiation situations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPT certified coder
  • Background in healthcare provider operations
  • Paralegal certification or experience
