General Job Description: The Vice President of Human Resources will lead the development and implementation of the HR Operations strategy, structure and approach that will enhance the HR standard of delivery. The Vice President will lead, coach and develop all HR Operations teams to improve capabilities, foster best practices and deliver optimal results that align with our business. Incumbent will provide employee relations expertise to ensure a positive ethical workplace environment and roll up your sleeves to lead, advise and conduct investigations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Establish the direction, metrics and goals for the Human Resources organization and guide the transformation of the function into a well-respected and value added business partner.
  • Build a discipline of recruiting, selection, and onboarding excellence to attract high potential, diverse talent for current and future business needs.
  • Build a discipline of Talent Management excellence to effectively train, develop and deploy current and future Leaders and Team Members.
  • Build a discipline of Team Member Engagement excellence (and retention) where people are fairly and appropriately compensated/incentivized, rewarded/recognized, effectively utilized and actively extend our brand in our Communities.
  • Develop and implement systems and processes that ensure the core functions of the department run efficiently and effectively deliver value to our Leaders and Team Members.


Typical Duties



  • Collaborate with business, functional and HR leaders to establish strategic and operational goals/plans (or modify existing strategy and programs) for HR Operations to more effectively meet business needs and align with our culture. Focus will be on continuous improvement, automation and solid first-line controls and compliance checks and building operational efficiency.
  • Build a best-in-class team member and leader support center with self-service and escalated service models (through Oracle Cloud HCM). Streamline HR records administration and compliance reporting.
  • Drive the transformation of the team member onboarding and off-boarding experience.
  • Build, develop and lead a team of HR professionals that has a high sense of urgency, is customer-oriented and exceptionally responsive.
  • Work with senior leaders to develop the compensation strategy, prepare managers for the salary planning and bonus processes and establish/monitor budgets.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization and earn the respect of others by demonstrating a sound judgement and business acumen.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations. Work with leaders and team members to resolve difficult and/or sensitive workplace matters.
  • Annually reviews and makes recommendations to senior leadership for updating the organization's policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state and local legislation.
  • Consult with legal counsel as appropriate, on complex matters.



Position Requirements:



  • 15+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience with companies that have high performance cultures and where the Human Resources function is recognized as a business partner (rather than an administrative function).
  • Must have experience leading a regional or national HR function with at least 5 years of experience in an HR executive role.
  • Possess an undergraduate degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Education or related field. A graduate degree in Business, while not a requirement, is preferred.
  • Multi-site/Multi State and Acquisitions/Integration experience
  • Proven experience in all areas of HR with a strong focus on talent acquisition, talent management, compensation, benefits, HRM, employee relations, compliance, training and development and diversity and inclusion.
  • Proven HR leadership in developing new efficient and effective business processes and implementation and leading geographically dispersed HR teams
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations relating to employment and compliance, including but not limited to employee privacy, HIPAA, and other pertinent regulations.
  • A consultative style and approach with proven ability to develop credible relationships at all levels
  • Proven ability to influence decision making; courage to make tough decisions and deliver difficult messages
  • Ability to manage competing, high-priority demands; prioritize workloads, and manage projects and multiple responsibilities against strict deadlines
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong experience and demonstrated skills in handling a variety of employee relations matters
  • Excellent follow through skills and the ability to anticipate and address business needs proactively
  • A high degree of professionalism and diplomacy in interactions with all levels of the organization
  • An active membership with professional Human Resources networks/organizations and ongoing professional development, SPHR preferred
  • The capacity to travel up to 20% of the time

Competitive Benefits & Wages.

Benefits include a total compensation package inclusive of a competitive base salary along with short- and long-term performance incentives, Employee Ownership (ESOP Equity), and a full suite of health and wellness benefits.

$230,000 to $325,000 Annual Salary. Applicants, please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
