As we continue to modernize our brand and enhance our customer experience, we are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our Store Design & Construction Team, now part of the Marketing Department. This role will assist in managing store remodels, refresh projects, and new store builds, ensuring quality execution while maintaining brand consistency. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the Store Design Team, Operations, Real Estate, and external contractors to support due diligence, project planning, coordination, and execution. - Project Coordination & Execution
- Assist in managing the planning, execution, and completion of store remodels, refreshes, and new construction projects.
- Support the development of project timelines, budgets, and scopes of work, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Track project progress and report on key metrics, risks, and opportunities.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections to ensure quality and compliance with design guidelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work directly with the Architectural Design Manager and Interior Designer to ensure construction aligns with store layouts, finishes, and customer experience objectives.
- Act as a liaison between Store Design, Construction, and Operations teams, ensuring clear communication of project goals and updates.
- Support cross-departmental meetings to discuss project needs, challenges, and execution plans.
- Construction Documentation & Compliance
- Assist in reviewing construction drawings, contractor bids, and contracts to ensure adherence to company requirements.
- Track permits, approvals, and utility connections, coordinating with local agencies as needed.
- Maintain project files, change orders, RFIs, and vendor agreements, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Conduct punch list walkthroughs and ensure timely completion of outstanding items.
- Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Help source, pre-qualify, and coordinate general contractors and subcontractors for store projects.
- Assist in reviewing invoices, change orders, and payment applications for approval.
- Process Improvement & Efficiency
- Identify opportunities to streamline project workflows and improve construction timelines.
- Assist in implementing technology tools for tracking and managing store projects.
Education and Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in construction management, project coordination, or retail store development.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, timelines, and budget management.
- Experience in retail construction, automotive service facilities, or tenant improvement projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of permits, zoning requirements, and retail lease agreements.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, site plans, and specifications required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% as needed for site visits and project oversight.
- Familiarity with Smartsheet, Bluebeam, Procore, or other construction management tools Preferred.
