At Parker, our team members belong, matter and make a difference. POSITION SUMMARY: With general guidance in a team environment, responsible for various inspection requirements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date acceptance and rejection records and/or certifications systems as required by the applicable specifications. Determine acceptance or rejection after inspection and/or calibration of parts. Identify defective conditions and test failures and prepare all appropriate documentation and/or calibration history. RESPONSIBILITIES: INSPECTION Perform inspection on detailed machined parts using a wide variety of measuring and test equipment to determine acceptability or rejections of parts and/or parts finish. Interpret specifications, charts and manuals. Use mathematics to convert blueprint dimensions and tolerances. Work within the guidelines of drawings, schematics, blueprints, route sheets, travelers, quality directives, technical engineering specifications, customer's requirements and military standards and/or calibrations procedures. Observe and perform audits of a moderate scope or complexity on assembly and test, machining and other functions for compliance to procedures. CALIBRATION
Issue to or remove instruments/inspected parts from various areas. Perform calibration of a moderate scope or complexity on various types of measuring and test equipment. Use standards to make moderately complex set-ups for calibration of measuring and test equipment. NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST Perform daily, weekly and monthly equipment and material checks. Perform pre-inspection and post-inspection cleaning. Set-up equipment and conduct tests. Perform complete inspections in accordance with applicable specifications, standards and other contractual documents. Interpret, evaluate and document inspection results in accordance with approved procedures. Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain a FOD free work area. Perform other related responsibilities. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. Two years related inspection, calibration or NDT experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities. Knowledge of using inspection tools and equipment including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, thread gages, optical comparators. 2. May be required to be certified as a Level II Nondestructive Test Inspector in magnetic particle inspection and/or liquid penetrant inspection. Certification must be in accordance with MIL-STD-410 and PES1-29. 3. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturer's specifications and internal drawings and procedures. Knowledge and understanding of GD&T callouts on blueprints preferred. 4. Ability to use and/or calibrate mechanical, hydraulic and electrical instruments/gages. 5. Possess working knowledge of machine shop mathematics. 6. Knowledge of applicable military and aerospace industry standards may be required. 7. Ability to work with basic hand tools may be required. 8. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. 9. Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills. 10. Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player. 11. Proficiency with basic computer systems including Microsoft office. TYPICAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time. The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to operate machinery. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance, and the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
