COMPENSATION

$95,000 - $105,000

JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Accounting Manager will assist with the overall financial operations of the hotel, to include but not limited to preparation of monthly financial statements in a timely and accurate manner. Oversee daily accounting operations including income journal, accounts receivables and accounts payable, assist Director of Finance in forecasting and budgeting and prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations. They will also supervise and mentor the accounting team providing guidance in daily operations and professional development.

WORK HOURS

Team Members may be required to work mostly day shifts Monday - Friday. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays when necessary for the effective operation of the hotel.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • 3-5 years hotel accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Fully understanding of Key Accounting Principles.


COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Must have a working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets in Windows.
  • Must be able to type 30 words per minute and have 10 key experiences.
  • Basic knowledge of web based Birchstreet procurement system preferred.
  • Some Symphony POS experience preferred.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

JOB DUTIES




  • Supervise and mentor accounting team providing guidance in daily operations and professional development.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, Income Audit, General Cashier Accounts Receivable/Credit and Reconciles General Ledger Accounts and bank statements.
  • Assist Staff Accountants in posting and reviewing journal entries to ensure proper accounting treatment. And overseeing the preparation of month end accruals.
  • Able to complete the accounting month end process, prepare Financial Statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulations.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Finance to develop and maintain budgets and prepare financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures. Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard hotel financial assets.
  • Assisting with the annual audit process by gathering necessary documentation and supporting information.
  • Analyzing financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Oversees all General Cashier functions including the preparation of daily cash over and short report with subsequent follow up with managers.
  • Monitors the issuance and compliance of purchase orders.
  • Attends credit and other meetings as needed and instructed by Director of Finance.
  • Maintains installation of new programs and/or updates.
  • Responds to guest questions when supervisor is asked for; follows through within 24 hours.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for special projects or any other duties as assigned.
