About the Job:

This Manager will lead an accounting team within Accounting Services and the content integrity of financial data generated multiple operating divisions. Implements, maintains and/or supports business processes necessary for effective and efficient operation as well as to ensure compliance with external government regulations and internal policies and procedures. Coordinates and directs personnel as necessary to accomplish duties. Works with divisions and other accounting managers to ensure that accurate and timely information is available. Responsible for certain aspects of the Company's closing process, preparation of various internal and external financial reports, special analyses and employee development.

What You'll Do:

Essential Functions:



  • Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the efforts of staff to ensure that accounting functions are accomplished during the month to facilitate the closing of the general ledger and production of accurate and timely financial records.
  • Reviews and approves accounting entries and supporting documentation to ensure relevance, accuracy and compliance with established standards including relevant Standard Practice Instructions. This includes review of ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Assesses current accounting operations, offers recommendations for improvements in processes, organizational structure and/or controls and implements approved recommendations.
  • Performs special projects and prepares/supports various presentations as assigned.
  • Employs effective communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with co-workers and other associates. This includes a significant emphasis on developing or enhancing team skills and customer service orientation. Requires the ability to build, develop and maintain good relationships with division personnel to allow for continued communication and navigation through changes and to provide training as desired.
  • Responsible for the development of staff to meet current demands and prepare them for future challenges in an effort to improve department performance. Requires effective planning, goal setting, and coaching of subordinates on an ongoing basis, as well as teamwork and open communication.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Masters in Accounting, CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.


Experience:



  • Minimum six years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience with Blackline software (or similar) preferred.
  • Experience with transaction matching preferred.
  • Intercompany accounting experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of transactional accounting and analytical skills.
  • Proven leadership, problem-resolution, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attitude of continuous improvement.
