OKC 73135 Hours: M-F 2:00 -11:30 Responsibilities The Surgical Instrument Technician, under the direct supervision of the Director, will be responsible for cleaning, maintaining, reprocessing, and sterilizing surgical instruments while adhering to high standards for quality and patient safety. The role also includes managing just-in-time surgical inventory levels within the Surgical Services Department. The position requires a proactive approach to teamwork, a willingness to work across various departments, and a commitment to contributing to the hospital's mission and values. Key Responsibilities: Sterilization & Instrument Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and sterilize surgical instruments in compliance with industry standards to ensure quality and patient safety. Surgical Inventory Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date just-in-time surgical inventory levels for the Surgical Services Department. Collaboration & Cross-Training: Collaborate effectively with the Director, resource nurses, and other team members to share ideas, optimize resource utilization, and assist with staff cross-training. Biological Sterilizer Checks: Actively participate in routine biological checks of sterilizers to ensure they are functioning properly. Teamwork & Patient-Focused Care: Participate in team efforts and encourage a cooperative environment to provide the highest quality patient-focused care. Qualifications Education: High School Graduate Licensure/Certification: CST Certification preferred. Experience: Inventory background preferred. Working Knowledge: Able to run and maintain sterilizers. And to maintain surgical inventory.
