Summary:

Provides planning coordination and oversight of staff training initiatives that incorporate best practices in core behavioral health treatment functions and evidence-based practices for different populations. Responsibilities include coordination of training by outside trainers follow-up support and technical assistance in the identified evidence-based practices analyzing client outcome data to evaluate treatment efficacy and appropriate application to the clients served providing case consultation on integrating strategies into practice and monitoring fidelity to practices.

Responsibilities:

Maintains current knowledge of diagnoses and treatments that are considered evidence-based practices for children and adults with SED SMI SPMI and SUD.

Works with program leadership to identify staff learning needs and develops curriculum and learning competency outcomes that map to evidence-based practices.

Provides training and support in core treatment practices including evaluation and case formulation risk assessment and safety planning crisis management and motivational engagement using various teaching-learning styles formats and platforms.

Coordinates training for clinical staff in the implementation of evidence-based practices appropriate to the various specialty populations served; providing case consultation to staff and program managers/team leaders in the implementation and adaptation of the practices.

Measures and monitors fidelity to evidence-based practices providing additional training and support as required.

Coordinates ongoing training in trauma-informed recovery-oriented culturally-relevant and client and family-centered care helping staff embed the principles in their individual treatment practices.

Adapts training in treatment practices to meet the needs of clients who have diverse experiences (e.g. people of color LGBTQ homeless etc.)

Identifies and establishes procedures for and monitors data systems needed to measure client outcomes related to the evidence-based practices.

Develops an annual training calendar and methodology for new staff orientation to treatment practices.

Oversees professional training events including being present to ensure events run smoothly.

Organizes administrative needs for trainings including materials CEU*s facilities speakers food etc.

Participates on Gateway Staff Training Committee.

Participates in Gateway Healthcare quality assurance and research activities.

Conducts self in a professional and ethical manner in keeping with Gateway Healthcare policy and professional guidelines on ethical conduct.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or needed.

Other information:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Masters degree in behavioral health sciences human services adult education or related field.

Minimum 3 years* experience working with children or adults who have significant behavioral health disorders

Minimum 2 years* experience providing behavioral health care training or health education

Certification in at least one evidence-based practice

Experience conducting professional trainings in small and large groups demonstrating knowledge of adult learning styles and educational/training formats.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of best practices working with adults with severe mental illness and substance use.

Knowledge of evidence based best practices for behavioral health population.

Advocacy teaching and mentoring skills.

Valid driver's license and use of car during normal working hours or other means of transportation.

Automobile liability insurance coverage for vehicle being used in accordance with Center requirements.
