DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role offers the candidate the chance to fulfill the necessary 1,000 hours for Pennsylvania's Administrator-in-Training (AIT) program under the supervision of a licensed nursing home administrator while also completing their master's degree fieldwork. You will contribute to our mission of delivering quality services to the veterans of the commonwealth and their families, as well as supporting the members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (PNG). By engaging in this internship, you will leverage outstanding educational opportunities through hands-on experiences with highly qualified professionals, enhancing your academic skills for real-world application, fostering innovative ideas, and broadening your professional network within the system. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time internship that may run from May 2025 through November 2025, 37.5 hour work week
- Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch
- The work location will be determined from one of the following, based on preference of selected candidate:
- Delaware Valley Veterans' Home in Philadelphia, PA (Philadelphia County)
- Fort Indiantown Gap in Annville, PA (Lebanon County)
- Gino J Merli Veterans' Center in Scranton, PA (Lackawanna County)
- Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home in Duncansville, PA (Blair County)
- Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie, PA (Erie County)
- Southeastern Veterans' Center in Spring City, PA (Chester County)
- Southwestern Veterans' Center in Pittsburgh, PA (Allegheny County)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- The internship will require students to be enrolled in their final year of a master's degree in nursing home administration, hospital administration, public health administration, or another area including social gerontology with an emphasis in related health facility administration.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
