Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Planner to join their team based in Mobile, AL.

The Work Planner is responsible to plan, and ensure the completion of, the day-to-day activities of their respective A220 assembly work station. The Work Planner is part of an MFT in situ at the station.

  • Our Engineers at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facility take our aircraft from concept to customer delivery - working with production teams on every aspect of assembly from managing technical information, quality control, maintenance tasks and health & safety - along flowlines and flightlines. Your working Environment:

  • On 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus' strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your Challenges:

  • Generate detailed crew and capacity loading plan (in coordination with Methods) to execute the build process in adherence to the Master schedule

  • Ensure hours completion as per crew loading plan, prepare planning to recover lost hours, execute strategy for adherence to Master plan.

  • Investigate and prepare the outstanding work (release) report before A/C moves to the next position

  • Prepare Aircraft Documentation for the different milestone production meetings (ex: FOT / MCA Handover ) and liaise closely with the Liaison Manager to achieve folio endorsement.

  • Responsible for Aircraft follow-up addressing progress in a pro-active manner and anticipating issues and attempting to resolve them before they slow production.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • General knowledge of material and equipment used in the aviation industry;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of shop floor safety and OSHA regulations;

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze situations and provide solutions;

  • Knowledge of and ability to use and apply LEAN knowledge and techniques;

Your Boarding Pass:

Education:

  • Diploma in any Aerospace, Manufacturing or Operations Management-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Experience with production assembly, material and work planning, and technical planning.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing work/ material or tool management.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Able to enter and retrieve information using a computer (SAP, Excel and Access advance user)

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals toinitiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions

  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hearalerts and warning signals.

  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliverinformation to groups of varying size with or without amplification

  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment

  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressingproduction issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.

  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.

  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor

  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings.

  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved onbottom shelves.

  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.

  • Travel: able to travel

  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight lines and airstripsometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
