Job Description

CEC Entertainment, the global leader in family entertainment and operator of Chuck E. Cheese, Peter Piper Pizza, and Pasqually's Pizza and Wings restaurants, has an immediate opening at our Support Center based in Irving, Texas for an IT Quality Assurance Analyst to work in the IT Department.

The CEC Information technology portfolio is built around third-party service providers and SaaS solutions, a "hybrid cloud" environment involving the NCR Aloha platform, the Workday platform, and a Microsoft stack. The project solutions delivery approach is to maintain a lean IT organization and use a "flex staffing" strategy to assemble the skills and resources needed to successfully deliver projects. These two characteristics combine to create a challenging environment for project planning and execution involving multiple vendors, multiple external resources, and highly constrained internal resources. Additionally, the project management methodology, and project administration and control processes need to be executed well to deliver projects effectively.

Position Overview

Develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for information technology services within the IT organization. Evaluate and test new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and established guidelines. Accountable for ensuring test responsibilities for creating, executing, and managing QA test strategy, test plans and cases for applications. Role requires both hands-on manual / automation testing where applicable.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develops, maintains, and conducts test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes for POS transactions, DMB validation, Play Pass applications (FSK, PPC, PPR, BSP, PPS), Punchh/loyalty and OLO (online ordering) applications. Including but not limited to documentation of test results and logging defects/issues for resolution.
  • Supports internal IT Change Control procedures. Provides quality systems review of applicable changes.
  • Assists in the on-going evolution of software quality assurance best practices.
  • May conduct compatibility tests with vendor provided programs.
  • May test proposed software or software enhancement for feasibility.
  • Create test cases based on collaboration with project team.
  • Responsible for coordinating and executing all phases of testing on the POS, DMB, Punchh or Loyalty application, OLO (online ordering), Play Pass applications (FSK, PPC, PPR, BSP, PPS), and assist with troubleshooting on all devices as required to produce quality software.
  • Responsible for documentation and testing all phases of POS cash transactions, Digital Menu Board validation, Play Pass Console, Play Pass Redemption, PPS, Punchh, and OLO (online ordering).
  • Responsible for assisting with documentation and testing all phases of Play Pass Kiosk, BSP, as well as all peripheral testing (i.e. printers, scanners, pin pad devices).
  • Will assist with troubleshooting on all applicable devices when necessary.
  • Will collaborate with other Quality Assurance team members when necessary to conduct scheduled in-office testing.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of QA experience and IT experience required, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant technology certification(s) is a plus.
  • Experience with retail organizations and point-of-sale system.
  • Experience in multiple phases of testing (system, regression, integration, etc.)
  • Experience developing use cases and test scripts to execute testing plans.
  • Experience testing user interface and batch processing in the related systems.
  • Experience testing integrations including file level validation (sample population) a plus.
  • Experience with test automation a plus (Selenium).
  • Experience using MS Visual Studio Team Foundation Server or VSTS (MS Test Manager a plus)
  • Experienced in Workday a plus. ERP (Human Capital and Financials) applications (PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS, SAP, etc.) or other software-as-a-service application is an acceptable substitute

Physical Demands:

To perform the duties of this position, the incumbent must have the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, reach, and carry, lift, pull, push between 1 - 25 lbs. Incumbent must use a computer, with repetitive movement of both hands. Incumbent must be able to work an 8-hour shift, with some overtime. Incumbent must also be available to travel to various locations by airplane or by operating a vehicle if needed.
