Postdoctoral Research Scholar

Position Description:We are currently seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research scholar to join the Neurobiology of Pain Research Laboratory under the direction of Kathleen A. Sluka, PT, PhD, in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at the University of Iowa. The individual will work as part of a research team on ongoing clinical research studies on pain. They will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing research studies, perform literature searches, data analysis of new and existing datasets, writing, and publishing manuscripts. They will also assist with running and analyzing blood samples from clinical studies. We are seeking candidates who are mature and possess excellent interpersonal and writing skills.The postdoc will be encouraged to present their research at scientific conferences. The University of Iowa provides a unique collaborative research environment that includes a Pain Research Program, Neuroscience Institute, and a variety of core facilities to enhance research.

This is a one-year position beginning 4/1/2025.

Salary:$61,008 to commensurate

EducationRequirement:PhD in neuroscience, public health, or related field.

Required Qualifications:

• Research experience with clinical observational studies, pragmatic clinical trials, and laboratory techniques experience.
• Knowledge of physical therapy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to take on leadership roles.
