The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) invites you to apply today to be considered for a position that provides customer service to the citizens of Maryland every day. MTA is one of the largest transit systems in the United States and is seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to join the MTA team! The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking Temporary Reservation Clerks to join our Mobility Call Center. We are looking for career-oriented individuals who are reliable, professional, organized, patient, and empathetic, with strong customer service skills. As a Mobility Reservation Clerk, you will assist customers over the phone by scheduling transportation services for individuals covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) who have permanent or temporary disabilities. You will provide accurate, timely responses to inquiries while entering data into a specialized computer application system. This role requires working in a fast-paced, structured professional environment, handling customer concerns, and ensuring excellent service. The Mobility Call Center is a modern facility with a business-professional dress code, conveniently located near the interstate and accessible via MTA Metro and Bus Systems. This position is located in Baltimore City, MD.

Qualifications

Education: Possession of a high school diploma or an equivalency (GED) certificate.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in a customer service position, consistently demonstrating the ability to simultaneously answer phone calls, resolve customer concerns, and make related data entry functions on a computerized system in a call center environment. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or a special needs population is preferred. Knowledge of the Baltimore metropolitan area is required.
Applicants will be required to successfully demonstrate speed and accuracy in their data entry skills by passing an examination administered on a computer.
Substitution Information: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

Note: Applicants must be able to work various shifts: (daytime, evenings, weekends and holiday shifts) as determined by the needs of the Mobility Department. This is a temporary assignment for at least 6 months with the possibility of extension.
Environmental Conditions: The Mobility Reservation Clerk is an essential personnel position designated by the MTA to be critical in maintaining the operation of the Mobility Call Center during significant service emergencies or adverse weather conditions and the employee must report to work as scheduled. This job requires sitting for long periods of time.
