As a Systems Design and Engineering Manager, you provide technical leadership on all aspects of the voice core network and manage a team of operational engineers and front line network operations center employees. You manage your project goals, contribute to network availability, help develop your team and oversee the deployment and operational support of large-scale projects across multiple sites.

Job Responsibilities:
- Background in 3G/4G/5G wireless communications systems and architectures and telecom networks, protocols and infrastructures as well as IP and cloud.
- Understand complex networks and architecture solutions and how new technologies may impact the performance and architecture of the network.
- Experience in designing wireless telecommunications coverage, capacity, or functional architectures in an optimal way to maximize performance and brand differentiation, minimize cost of ownership and establish multi-year financial outlook.
- Understanding of what network aspects drives customer quality of experience for various services.
- Experience working with field and regional engineering teams to do network capacity planning and work with design teams using call models and data usage scenarios to support existing and forecasted subscriber growth while managing cost and optimizing network architecture.
- Experience with VoLTE and LTE nodes interworking, capacity modelling for radio network, quality of service parameters and dimensioning of SDN/NFV nodes.
- General understanding of how the network cost and performance impacts company business metrics.
- Experience managing operational and capital budgets to make sound business decisions including asset classification and NPV calculations.
- Experience and understanding for using technology to solve business problems, ability to do cost/benefit trade-off analysis for technology and develop business cases to justify investment in technology.
- Thorough understanding of the end to end 3G / 4G / 5G Wireless architecture and functional properties.
- Understand the technical differences of wireless systems. (e.g. 3G,4G, circuit switched, VOLTE, VILTE, OTT, etc.)
- Experience in delivering technical presentations, business case development, Executive briefings, vendor presentations, etc.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or Engineering or related field (Required)
Work Experience:
- 5+ years of technical engineering/Operations experience
- 5+ years operating Telco Apps in a Cloud Environment
- Less than 2 years People Management experience

Base Pay Range: $143,000 - $257,900
Corporate Bonus Target: 20%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
