Tufts University: School of Arts & Sciences: School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts Description The SMFA at Tufts University Ceramics Area is seeking a Part-Time Lecturer for a one-semester appointment for Fall 2025. The successful candidate will teach CER-0102 Introduction to Ceramics: Wheel in a lively and community-based ceramics area where college students work interdisciplinary throughout the school. The course in question will be available to all Tufts undergraduates and to SMFA BFA and combined degree students as well as to our master's degree candidates on Friday's from 8:30am-2:00pm. Course Description - Intro to Ceramics: Wheel Wheel throwing is an integral part of the ceramics process. Learn to create forms on the wheel, including bowls, cups, vases, plates, and enclosed forms. Explore various surface design, glazing, and firing techniques to create both functional and expressive objects and learn to incorporate these techniques into an individual art practice. No prerequisites needed. Non-SMFA students and MAT Art Education students will receive a letter grade. |
