THE POSITION The Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation is on the lookout for a seasoned engineering expert to take on the role of Senior Civil Engineer (General) within the Department of Environmental Protection. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role requires a high level of expertise in geology, engineering, and mining to effectively address public concerns related to Abandoned Mine Land (AML) issues. The responsibilities include: investigating complaints of AML problems; developing, designing and providing construction guidance for in-house reclamation projects. Additionally, the position can be involved with exploratory drilling initiatives, conducting subsurface evaluations in accordance with Act 17, and providing support to other Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation (BAMR) staff on geological, engineering and mining matters as necessary. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License. This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
